Skype is an innovative process which enables you to
make free calls to any connected computer. Skype
uses P2P [peer-to-peer] technology to connect you
with other Skype users, and you talk with them through
your computers microphone, once you have downloaded
the neccesary Skype programme. You will have to
purchase a headset. The Skype quality is reputed to
exceed that of traditional LAN line phones. You can also
use SkypeOut to call normal land lines - you will need
to buy credits but it is still cheap. Win 2000 or XP.

Better Memory Meter is a system tray utility that reports
what percentage of free memory your computer has remaining
at a glance.

Memory Meter at www.memorymeter.com installs spyware (TVMD.EXE) in your Windows
directory every time you run it, close it, or uninstall it.

In response, Zinious has created this clean alternative that does everything Memory
Meter does. Features:
*Easy-to-read system tray display.
*Great for knowing at a glance what your general free physical memory percentage is
*Lightweight design -- no clunky interface.
*Low memory consumption: does not use excessive resources while displaying different
icons like Memory Meter does.
*No spyware/adware/virii at all. The original Memory Meter installs hidden files that are
difficult to remove and that are identified by anti-adware/spyware programs as a
privacy attack!

Things to do Folder
It is a good idea to create a 'things to do' folder in Outlook
express where one can store e-mails to be worked on later. Also
creating folders to help keep your e-mails organized, is simple and
easy to do. Right- click  -Local Folders- and click -New Folder- on
the Shortcut menu. Give your new folder a name and click Ok. You will
see your new folder listed under Local Folders.

Renaming a batch of pictures
This is great if you import digital photos. Open the folder where
you have saved your pictures. Select your first batch of pictures to
rename. Right click the first picture selected and click Rename on
the shortcut menu. Rename the first picture, eg London holiday 1,
then click any empty space to deselect the pictures. Your pictures
will automatically rename themselves London holiday 1 London
holiday 2 etc. This tip also works with renaming a collection of
files.

Tracing your steps
Isn’t it the most frustrating thing that just as you find a site
you want, your electricity cuts out and down you go. And then when
you get back up you can’t find the URL because you forgot to write it
down.
No problem. Internet explorer automatically saves where you have
been on the web. To check it out, click the History button to open the
History pane, and you can search for sites you have visited, at all times
in the past.

Safekeeping the Windows XP Registry
Because no one tool fits everyone's needs or works in all cases, listed here are
a variety of alternate ways of creating an XP setup CD that's already
"prepatched" with SP2. There are live links to all those other tools at the end
of the article at:
If you want to prepatch your XP setup (and thus save maybe an hour on
future installations!) check out the article above, the links at the end
of the article, or the tool Eran suggests: Surely one of them will work
for you!
